Department of Forest Research and Survey
Planning & Monitoring Section
This section expedites the overall technical as well as budgetary planning processes of the Department. 
It also makes coordination with the line ministry, National Planning Commission, Ministry of Finance in order to make five-year, annual plans, budgetary sanctions etc.
Objective
* The overall objective of this section is to support the Department in enhancing its planning and Budgeting process in achieving its objective/s more efficiently through its two divisions namely, Forest Research Division and Forest Survey Division.
* To facilitate planning and budgeting activities of all the sections of the Department;
* To conduct monitoring and evaluation of forest research and survey activities, and provide comments to enhance their efficiency of the Department To assist the Department in developing and maintaining the database for Human Resource Development and identify the training need in order to enhance the institutional capabilities;
* To provide necessary information as demanded by the Department and the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation; and
* Conduct activities as per the demand of the Department.
