Socio-Economic Section


The socio-economic section conducts research on pertinent social and economic issues related to forestry sector and ensures that social and economic issues are properly considered in the selection, management and impact monitoring of the forestry research conducted by the Department and help develop sustainable policies, plans, programmes and actions in the Forestry Sector.
Objectives

* To strengthen the socioeconomic component of the research in the forestry sector of Nepal ;
* To conduct market studies and socioeconomic analysis;
* To study the contribution of forestry on rural livelihoods and national economy; and
* To study the role of bamboo, rattan and NTFPs in poverty reduction.
